No employer will ever care about some free certificate you got online. What you can show are certificates from respectable institutions that cost some, such as Microsoft, Amazon or Cisco. Another thing can be your personal projects.

I'm just 2 months away from completing my MCA and there no placement provided from my college I've to search it on my own now and i thought of doing The Odin project but it doesn't provide any certificate for course completion from what I've heard from where I live (India) the recruiters ask for a certificate which holds the weightage of knowledge that i have gained are from the right resources or not so what do I do will it land me a job of a developer role

I’m in the US and certificates are meaningless here. Generally the only piece of paper that holds weight is a CS or related degree.

As others have said, in the US a cert like that is meaningless. Something like azure or AWS certs would hold some weight but only paired with other experience. I’m a boot camp grad and my “certificate” is meaningless. It’s not even on my resume since it holds no weight. I’d focus more on an impressive portfolio of projects.

Another downside of the foundation course is that some of the reading materials that TOP recommends, although high-quality, is bulky and can be mentally draining. I definitely took some time to go through all the necessary materials and avoid the temptation of simply skipping it. Finally, it is worth noting that unlike some online courses TOP does not give you any certificates upon completion.
