Supposedly it's middle mouse button, but obviously I'm lacking that. In other browsers it was generally ctrl+click (on a link) to open a link in a new tab. But that isn't working.

Can't find any options in the settings either to change it. Is there a workaround, or an addon/extension for this?

Edit: To clarify, I'm not talking about Ctrl+T. That just opens a blank tab, or my last closed tab.

Ctrl+click works if the site doesn't hijack the link with a script. If necessary, right-click then T (or click Open Link in New Tab).

On many laptops with a 2 button trackpad... middle-click is achieved by pressing both buttons simultaneously... works but can be a little fiddly. (Laptop's usually have 'both buttons = middle-click' set as the default... but if not look in mouse/trackpad device settings.) A better option... but wholly dependent on your laptop's trackpad manufacturer/type/model/software... there may be additional features that allow taps, swipes, or gestures (e.g. taps in corners or swipes down the edges of the trackpad)... these trackpad areas can be individually specified and set up to initiate assorted scrolling and key presses... including middle-click. Some laptops will have a 'Precision Touchpad' designed to work with Windows built-in drivers... other standard touchpads (e.g. Elan or Synaptic) will have additional settings... often in a tab under 'Mouse Options'... and possibly multi-finger gestures as well... depending on your laptop!
