I needed to restain my very sun bleached and worn Runnen tiles (sorry I don’t have Applaro samples to share) and Varda was sold out everywhere. The closest match I found was Behr Premium Semi-Transparent waterproofing stain & sealer, in the colour Sable (ST-135) from Home Depot. I just restained my entire balcony with it and the colour match is pretty close - it has just enough of the red tint in it, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I admit I was lazy and only did an overall hard brush cleaning and wood soap scrub prior to restaining but it still turned out great imho. I would suggest getting one of those sample stain cans and do a swatch test to see if you like it. I am not sure if you confused "Cover it with a waterproof cover" with "Cover it with a poly top coat" but I cannot find any verbiage that states you should add any coat other than stain: The best way to extend the life of your wooden outdoor furniture is by cleaning it regularly, not leaving it outdoors unprotected more than necessary, and re-staining it on a regular basis. In any case, is it completely ruined and non-functional or is it aesthetic? Can you just add stain again like the care instructions recommend? More on reddit.com
