r/UPS on Reddit: How the hell do I actually pay UPS for an invoice?
July 9, 2020 -

UPS sent me a bill for brokerage charges after dropping off a package.

Their website is a total fucking mess and of no help whatsoever. It made me create some kind of corporate billing account (which I don't need), save credit card information, but then there's no way to add an invoice to it. I tried searching for invoices, but nothing comes up. It only seems to track things that I have shipped out or something.

I tried their tracking website to look up the package, but there is no payment option after I find the package.

r/UPS on Reddit: How can I pay customs on behalf of the recipient?
May 23, 2025 -

EDIT: I paid through pirateship and they didn't have an option for DDP and I was worried because I didn't put the recipient's number or email. Turns out you can pay as long as you have the tracking number. There's a popup that says you have an outstanding balance and it directs you to pay.

Hi, I'm sending a package to a recipient internationally. I want to know if/how I can pay the customs, tax, and duty on behalf of them rather than send money to them and have them pay for it. This is my first time shipping something internationally through UPS so I don't know how this works.

Click on the appropriate tracking number hyperlink, which will open the details of that import shipment. Select Brokerage Forms at the bottom of the screen. Share the file with the appropriate people. If you’ve discovered that your clearance charges may be inaccurate, don’t panic. Mistakes do happen! This can be due to a number of reasons, such as an incomplete HS code classification, inaccurate foreign exchange rates, etc. Luckily, UPS has tools to dispute and appeal duty and tax charges online, without the hassle of waiting for a representative.

r/UPS on Reddit: UPS Paid my duties without contacting me and the amount is more than the value of the item.
September 8, 2025 -

Apparently, a law went into effect on August 29th that shipping services can pay duties without consent of receiver.

I purchased an item for $2,000. Today, the duties it says I owe upon delivery is $2100 and change. The numbers are WAY off. No one at UPS customer service even understands me well enough to help me. I have been asking what the declared value is on the package and 4 different reps keep quoting me the amount owed on the package. How can I fix this? This was paid by wire, so I'm either out 2k or paying double. Can I dispute the amount? I've never felt so helpless and need to have a resolution (or at least a better understanding of what to do) by delivery tomorrow. Thanks!

I guess my big question is, if I pay this outrageous fee, is there any way to dispute it with customs or UPS?

Edit/Follow-up: I appreciate all the advice. I was able to get the commercial invoice from UPS. It seems like there is an error as CBP charged full value tariffs multiple times. From what AI said, it's similar if you ordered a peice of furniture, but CBP charged the full value tarrifs on each item individually (screws, mount, part, etc).

r/UPS on Reddit: How do I pay a customs brokerage invoice??
April 23, 2020 -

I received a customs brokerage invoice today for a package that was delivered a week ago. I have looked everywhere and cannot find any way to pay this invoice other than to literally mail them a cheque! The online help says that I should 'track' the package and click the PAY NOW button... but there is no such button. The only other information I found suggests creating a payment account and I've done that... but I can't get past the validation because it requires entering a 6 digit account number and the only thing I have is the one on the invoice... which is 10 digits.

How can they make it so hard to just pay an invoice?!
