Hi!
I recently created a Shopify account and got a purchase through PayPal however I did not set it up yet so when I went to set it up, I had to verify my details. But it won’t let me enter in Canadian address/bank. It is stuck on US. I tried to call in and they said the email I used was not linked to any account on their end… I can’t even close the account because I have to call customer service to do it but they can’t find the email.
Now I have a purchase that is stuck in limbo because it can’t be refunded or accepted.
Has anyone run into this problem before? Does anyone know how to verify as a Canadian business?

The fact that the account does not let you enter CA based address/financials may mean you signed up under US PayPal, not CA PayPal. PayPal accounts are country specific. Also check if your Shopify is CA or US based. If PayPal is saying your email address is not linked with an account, it could be that you did not confirm your email address yet, which is a good thing if you opened a US PayPal account in error. Also keep in mind that by default Shopify uses the email address you signed up with (which may or may not have a PayPal linked to it) as your PayPal email address for payments UNLESS you change it to an existing one BEFORE your shop goes live. So start over. Open a CA PayPal with the same email address: https://www.paypal.com/ca/for-you/account/create-account Confirm the email address by the email you receive from PayPal. Then start filling in account info/financials unless they make you do all that stuff at sign up these days.
