I feel like this word is pretty common knowledge, at least by early high school lol More on reddit.com
Why is "pertinent" a better alternative to "akin" in replacing the word "Relevant" in line 63? I got the answer right just because pertinent flows better, but when specifically should I use the word "akin"?
when something is akin to something else, it means that they are similar or related somehow. “his hobbies are akin to mine” however, in this sentence you’re not addressing the similarities particularly, but instead focusing on sensory stimulations relevance. pertinent is a synonym for relevant! so since the sentence is saying that ‘sensory stimulation is relevant’, you’d want to replace it with pertinent because they mean the same thing. hopefully this helped at least a little bit? i’ll try to find more examples and link them. sorry if this explanation was confusing.
