Hi, OT here, and I work in an assisted living facility. Have had several of my 90+ ladies go to family weddings. Those that prefer pants have found items at their favorite stores. Talbots and Chicos are some that come to mind. I also helped one lady pick some items from her closet. She ended up with black pants and a silvery top in that slinky material. The pants had a stretchy waistband. We picked out some sparkly jewelry to dress it up even more. And all of them wore their regular comfy shoes! More on reddit.com

My mom had been insisting on a pantsuit and I told her to wear what she wanted, but also encouraged her to look at some dresses because she might be surprised at what looked flattering on her. I told her to look at dresses only because she sounded disappointed that she’d “have” to wear a pantsuit. She has found some dresses she likes and only has one pantsuit in the running at the moment. But, had she not liked any dresses, I would have been absolutely fine with whatever she chose. I’d suggest you tell your daughter how you’re feeling, and I’d be as vulnerable as you can to explain how bad the options she’s picking are making you feel. Even if SHE thinks you look great in the dresses(which may be the case!), you don’t feel great in them. If she wants you to feel beautiful, the best route to that for you is to choose what you feel flatters you the most. Edit to add - based on your comments, it sounds like she’s being unreasonable so I’m not sure how much the above will work. If I were you, I’d just wear what I want! ❤️ More on reddit.com
