Phonetic Spelling of one's name
You could try an online tool like a clickable IPA chart to get the right vowel sounds, if they'll accept a spelling in the international phonetic alphabet over another kind of phonetic spelling. It might be easiest to contact your university's linguistics department. Instructors there have the benefit of knowing how the school's graduation system works for getting student's names correct. You could supply a recording of your name via Vocaroo link or similar (just attaching a file might flag it in the system or otherwise cause problems), of ovver to meet with them quickly in-person to get it right. If name is spelled weirdly, should you use it or use a phonetic spelling in your book?
Oh my god, name your characters whatever you want. The hard truth is you don’t need to concern yourself with burdening your readers with these things if you don’t have any. But for what it’s worth, I would never read “Mychul” and assume it’s pronounced like “Michael”. More on reddit.com
