What sort of pipe wrench should I get as a homeowner?

Any material is really fine for the home-gamer. Some prefer the light weight of aluminum, but I find it doesn't make a difference for me. Unless you're using them all day, cast iron is fine and usually cheaper. Go with a good brand like Ridgid. And shop around - you can almost always find them used on offerup, craigslist, etc. for dirt cheap. Just make sure they arent worn to shit. As for size, 14-18 in range should do.
