I find thickness varies across the sheet. Factory edges are thinner. Also, the veneer on the factory edge is thinner than in the middle. ... Plywood today is gauged in metric measurements. It's when you measure in inches it seems odd sizes. I worked with a lot of professional cabinet makers that only measured in 1/16" increments.

Doesn't look like plywood to me...at least on the face. I'd build it out of 3/4" ply with 1.5" face frames

I'd think that it's more likely to be 1 1/2" thick. You can glue and screw two layers of 3/4" ply together to get that thickness, then band it with solid stock to achieve the look.
