Floor & decor sells shit. Show your installer the mosaic and he’ll show you how inconsistent the spacing is on the mosaic. Thickness of the tile, properly installed, won’t have an impact on durability, so long as the tile is approved for the use you’re planning. Anybody who just blindly says ‘thicker’ without any additional information doesn’t understand fully how tile installations work. More on reddit.com

Depends what you bought. I went through something similar with tile purchased through Floor and Decor. I wanted 2" hex, the wall only tile was $1.99/sqft, the floor tile which looks similar/same was $11.99/sqft. Looking at the two tiles in person the floor tiles were thicker and heavier. Check what you bought for floor install recommendations. Your installer might be right, they could also be wrong. You'd need to look up your specific product. More on reddit.com
