Hi, I'm wanting to have a look at some examples of really well made but extremely simple python projects in an attempt to better understand basic structure and design. People suggest to me things like Requests or Flask... they may be beautiful but they are way too complex for what I'm after.

Any suggestions that come to mind?

I think you can just make a git tag, push it, then in the web UI, create a release. If you needed to upload things besides the source code with the release, you can do it all while making the release in the web UI See: Managing releases in a repository - GitHub Docs
