Just in case, if someone is looking for a similar problem...

Most solutions given here are one line and are quite readable and simple. Just wanted to add one more that does not need the use of lambda(I am assuming that you are trying to use lambda just for the sake of making it a one line code). Instead, you can use a simple list comprehension.

[print(i) for i in x]

BTW, the return values will be a list of Nones.

Issue with creating lambda functions using for loop
If you want the function to take n from outer scope, don't put it in as a parameter. arr = [] for n in range(1,5): arr.append(lambda: 5+n) More on reddit.com

What is the purpose of Lambda expressions?
This is a typical example for beginners: x=lambda n:2*n print(x(7)) Otherwise I would create a function: def dbl(n): return 2*n print(dbl(7)) Of course: I can write simply 2*7, but the idea is to save a complex formula in an object once, and reuse it several times. More on discuss.python.org

Lambda vs For each loops
They're equivalent. The first one is probably slightly faster, but that would depend on optimizations. Something like int i = 0; for (String str : arrayOfStrings) { i += str.length; } you can't write as is with forEach, as you're not allowed to change variables in the enclosing method, but you could use streams for something equivalent. But not all cases are that simple and easily translated to streams. forEach mainly is useful if you just have a method or lambda you want to call for each item. objects.forEach(MyClass::update); is probably better than for (MyClass myObj : objects) { myObj.update(); } But this isn't always that easy. Sometimes you want to write beginner-friendly code and you might prefer the bottom variant because of that. Sometimes performance is extremely important and you might do performance tests and choose the fastest variant instead of the prettiest one. More on reddit.com

How do I replace loops (nested loops) with a combination of lambda function, map, reduce, and filter in Python?
Why do you think you need any of those? lambda: anonymous functions map: apply a function over a sequence reduce: reduce a sequence to a single value How are these applicable to mostly assignment statements? If you are looking to use more advanced python features, you could: Use slice assignment instead of the inner for loop Use filter to return a iterator over the primes and move the printing outside of the function. E.g.: import itertools as it def genprimes(n): primes=[True]*(n+1) primes[0]=primes[1]=False for p in range(2, int(n**0.5)+1): if primes[p]==True: primes[p*p:n+1:p] = it.repeat(False, times=(n-p*p)//p+1) return filter(primes.__getitem__, range(n)) In []: n = 20 print(' '.join(map(str, genprimes(n)))) Out[]: 2 3 5 7 11 13 17 19 You could also look to making this a generator, e.g. this does the same thing: def genprimes(n): primes=[True]*(n+1) primes[0]=primes[1]=False for p in range(2, n): if primes[p]==True: primes[p*p:n+1:p] = it.repeat(False, times=(n-p*p)//p+1) yield p More on reddit.com

Why Lambda in a Loop is a Code Smell in python? Also it happens in c++? · GitHub
In Python, using a lambda function in a loop can lead to unexpected behavior due to late binding. This means the lambda function captures the variable, not the value. So, if the lambda uses loop variables, it will use the final value of the ...

r/learnpython on Reddit: Issue with creating lambda functions using for loop
February 7, 2022 -

Hey all,

Can someone explain why when I run the below code:

arr = []
for n in range(1,5):
    arr.append(lambda n: 5+n)

I can't run one of the functions in the array by simply calling arr[0]()with empty parenthesis?

it throws an error saying I need to pass one positional argument, n - but I'm passing it using for loop, am I not?

There is evidently something I'm missing.

What makes it worse to me is that ok, if I pass an argument, say I will call art[0](7) - that makes the n in my lambda and in for loop useless, because the value (of n) didn't get passed at all to that lambda n: definition...

Any help would be appreciated!

May 7, 2023 - The number dataset contains several numbers, and the for loop creates a new variable named ‘num’ that saves each value in the dataset one by one. After the loop, the program prints the ‘num’ variable, resulting in the printing of every value saved inside ‘num’. ‘apply lambda’ can be considered a more advanced method of performing iteration in Python.

The syntax of Python’s lambda function is as follows: ... expression: This is what gets evaluated and returned. It must be a single expression with no return keyword, as it returns the result automatically. But why use lambda functions? Here are some of their key features: Anonymous: They don’t have a name unless they’ve been assigned one. Single-expression only: They can’t include loops, multiple statements, or blocks.

In most cases, continue to use the older style of function declaration where the return type goes before the function name. Use the new trailing-return-type form only in cases where it's required (such as lambdas) or where, by putting the type after the function's parameter list, it allows you to write the type in a much more readable way.
