Google Wallet Shortcut, Soon to Potentially be Available for any Android Model
July 12, 2024 - Google's recent decision to discontinue its GPay app and peer-to-peer (P2P) payments service in the US signals the end of an era for the revamped Google Pay. Image via Google Wallet · Users may see Google Wallet under their smartphone's Quick Settings panel when they scroll down. However, the shortcut is not available on all Android phones. The shortcut is made available via a system-level feature known as Quick Access Wallet, although OEMs have the ultimate say on whether or not consumers may utilize the facility.

Google's new Quick Settings tile for Wallet is rolling out now - Android Authority
August 27, 2024 - This new tile suggests that people can still get quick access to Wallet if manufacturers block the previous solution or if their phones are running an older version of Android that doesn’t support the old tile. The Play Services update also brings two more changes. The first change introduces “more functionality for transit cards in Wallet.” We’re not sure about the specific functionality added here, but we recently discovered evidence that Wallet will let you assign nicknames to transit cards.

Google Wallet could finally get its own quick-access shortcut that works on all Android phones
July 11, 2024 - As shared by Android Authority, Google Wallet's latest 24.26.650309275 version offers hints of the app gaining its own Quick Setting tile, completely separate from the system-level Quick Access Wallet. Tapping this tile would open the Google Wallet app, while long pressing it would reportedly pull up the app's info. It's worth noting that if you have Google Wallet set as the default payment app, the app will automatically pop up when you attempt to make a contactless payment at a NFC payment terminal.

Google Wallet rolls out Quick Settings Tile on Samsung phones
October 10, 2024 - Compared to other Android devices, Samsung phones have long lacked this shortcut that provides one-touch access to Google Wallet from Quick Settings. “Wallet” features the simplified app icon with a tap simply opening the full app. While you can just bring your phone to a reader and pay, launching the app is needed if you want to use something other than the default card.

r/GalaxyS21 on Reddit: Google Pay: is quick access wallet supported on Galaxy devices?
May 19, 2021 -

I know Galaxy devices work better with Samsung Pay, but I was hoping to use Google Pay.

The problem I have is that to switch from your default card in Google Pay, you have to open the app, select a tiny icon at the top, then swipe to the cards you want.

I know there is a quick access feature on Pixel phones where you can select Google Pay cards from the power menu.

Is there something similar for Galaxy devices? Or can it only be done by launching the full app as described above?

How to Access Google Pay's New Interface on Android | Lifehacker
June 9, 2025 - Quickly tap and hold your Pixel device’s power button to open the new Google Pay wallet. Slide right then tap the “View All” card. This will take you to the new Google Pay menu (which technically is part of Google Play Services, not Google Pay’s). The new menu has two tabs: “Payment Methods” and “Activity,” and you can tap the three-line “Hamburger” menu jump to between them (via the sidebar), as well as access app/account settings and Google Support.
