December 11, 2015QB Enterprise - emailed pdf invoices and paystubs are garbled
So I'll assume the following: You set the company file into single-user mode You validated the data in your company file before doing anything and resolved any errors found in the QBWIN.log file You made a stand-alone back-up of your company file before upgrading from 21 to 23. You upgraded the software on your server first, you then applied the latest Rxx version to the server You then upgraded all the desktop computers, and then applied the latest Rxx version to the computers You opened the company file on one of the desktops to let QB perform the data migration If you did all of that and have encountered a problem, I suggest uninstalling the 21 version from your server to see if that makes any difference. Intuit's upgrade does not do that. Also look to see if the old QuickBooksDByy service is no longer active/running. I would also suggest that >if< Intuit support didn't make you run the Tool Hub on your server you download it and do so. Have it make ALL the necessary changes to all the .Net nonsense and the rest. Having said all that. The only thought I have to validate whether it is the QB software versus your version 21 to 23 migrated file is to create a new test company file in 23. Add a client, add a job, create an invoice, and mail it to yourself. If the output is garbled, it is the QB software. If it works, then QB made a mess of your data file during the migration. FWIW, Intuit support has told me so far to do the "File"->"Utilities"->"Verify Data" thing -- no problems found.
They've also told me to run the Tool Hub, "Program Problems" -> "Print & PDF Repair Tool". That too had no effect.
They appear unable to comprehend that this is a problem with one employee and not a general PDF generation issue.
For our part, any remaining goodwill has evaporated.
