Same here. I got it from Amazon as an open box “as new,” and it really is like new, but I understand why it was returned: the battery issue. It had 87% charge when I received it. I updated to Synapse 4, updated the keyboard firmware, played for a few hours, and it dropped to about 50%. I then plugged it into a 65 W Samsung charger using a 100 W Baseus USB-C cable. It charged back up to 87% in about 20 minutes and then got stuck there, showing “87% charging” both in the app and on the keyboard display. I switched to wired mode and let it charge through its own cable while playing, and it eventually reached 100%. But the battery drains very quickly even on power-saving mode, which claims up to 2100 hours. That’s about 87 days, so it shouldn’t lose even 2% per day (24 hours of constant use), yet mine drops to 80% in just 4–5 hours . On top of that, I can’t find any information about its charging rate, like you can with phones (25 W, 35 W, 45 W, etc.). I found someone who said they contacted Razer and were told there was a batch with battery problems. I think I’ll return it to Amazon. A €218 keyboard shouldn’t have issues like this. For now, I’ll stick with my 3-year-old BlackWidow V3 until the price of the BW V4 Pro 75% comes down and then I’ll buy it new. €300 new is just too much for me, and knowing it can have these problems is frustrating. r/razer on Reddit: Blackwidow v4 pro 75% Battery draining 100% to 85% in 20 min with low settings ?
July 5, 2025 -

Hi everyone,

I just purchased this keyboard and loving it so far. But my first 3 full charge to 100% is a bit strange in my opinion. Every time i charge to 100%, in a second it goes to 99% and drain to 85% in 20 min...

My settings is what people recommended to not drain the battery as fast as this. I'm on 1000hz polling rate, 50% keyboard backlight and everything turn off or dim after 2 min.

It seems a battery issue more than software, but I'm curious if I'm the only person to experience something like this with this keyboard.

Thank you !

If your laptop is experiencing battery issues such as swelling or poor charging, please replace immediately. Razer Blade batteries are very simple to remove, only requiring a few T5 screws for the back panel. Batteries have a shelf-life and degrade with use, heat and charge stress can speed this up and usually need replacing around 3-5 years for laptops. 2022+ Blades have a charge limiter that should be enabled. For replacements, contact Razer support first, battery warranty is 2 years and outside of warranty they can sell to some regions. eBay and iFixit also have replacements, check your model and year. I bought this keyboard, but I noticed a flaw, I think.
The battery lasts very little. After a day of use, it goes from 85% in the morning to 10% in the evening, both in Bluetooth mode and in 2.5 GHz wireless mode with its dongle.
Is this an issue you’ve experienced as well?

After finding out synpase doesnt save RGB settings to onboard memory, i also am stuck with horrendous battery life.

Barely lasts 5 hours, i even left it to charge for 12 hours overnight.

I suspect it might be a polling rate issue? In synapse i changed it from 1000hz to 125hz but everytime i open synapse it doesnt save? Can anybody help?

So like I wrote above, I purchased this black widow V4 pro and it’s obviously a bit expensive. I’ve been a huge razor fan for 10+ years who knows but after buying this, it doesn’t feel much different than my old black widow, which is fine I loved my old one but I figure if I’m gonna spend 230+ tax I might as well make sure I’m getting the best out there now I understand that I’m writing this on a razer forum but I still want peoples opinions. I had the idea of returning this one and getting the V4, pro 75% but that’s $300 so not sure if that’s even worth it although wireless would be amazing

Great keyboard—I've been using one for almost two years now. It has a truly premium typing feel, a super comfy wrist pad, and attractive features like lighting, a volume knob, and a left-side control knob. However, be aware of a double-typing issue. I experience double key presses on some keys about once every 1,000 presses.

As someone who originally bought the green switch v4 pro and returned it in for the 75% pro - here are my thoughts. I prefer the orange switches over green. I really wish Best Buy had orange switch v4 pro in stock - would have loved to test that before swapping. But didn’t want to go through Amazon and return it if I didn’t like it… I do miss the macro and full media controls that the full version had. OLED screen on the 75% pro is a gimmick. But the typing experience is so much better on oranges I would not swap back. Also feels more solid. the wireless doesn’t have a lot of life. If you play all day with max polling + lights it will die on you. (Enough to last a couple hours though). I didn’t buy it for the wireless though. I wanted orange switches - and wanted to avoid the double typing issues the non pro has in the first batch. (Might still happen - only owned it a few weeks) Although I didn’t buy it for the wireless (I keep it plugged in 99% of the time) - it’s a feature that has grown on me. I like being able to easily switch between devices using blue tooth. Want to use my phone to write creative stories while watching TV? Check. Want a better typing experience when on my laptop / traveling? Check. 5. OLED is largely a gimmick for me. I set it to display the battery life / connection type of the keyboard. I only use the dial for pausing / listening to music. (Track controls). It’s nice and if I wanted to I could really get creative with it (macros) - but eh. I don’t care to. 6. Hotswappables are “cool” if you ever get into modding. I don’t plan on ever using that feature - but it’s nice nonetheless.

r/razer on Reddit: Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro battery issues
December 30, 2022 -

Hi there!

I bought a Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro today and have been enjoying it a lot! However, I noticed that the battery is draining insanely quick and it seems to be charging incredibly slow. It went from 63% to 51% in about 20 minutes and I've been charging it during a gaming session for about 2,5 hours, where it only charged from 9% to 63% (and it won't seem to charge past that either for some strange reason).

I've tried reinstalling Razer Synapse and have updated the keyboard's firmware but this scenario seems to persist. Is something wrong with my keyboard or is Razer Synapse just not working properly?
