I just registered with Remitly to test the process. The email account I used was sent a notification of this registration. Thus at some point your email account likely was as well. However, it did not seem like an email that was a verification, but rather a fait accompli notification. Rather than give Remitly your personal info, since you control the email address for the account, have you considered resetting the password to something ridiculously crazy, such that the scammer could never get back into that account? Once you did that, and you have control of the account, then maybe you could block any and all emails from remitly(.)com? And with a crazy password, and no desire to ever use Remitly, you could simply not give a F that this account exists. More on reddit.com
