Jabra Enhance 20 vs Rexton Reach Experience - Hearing Aids - Hearing Aid Forum - Active Hearing Loss Community
December 21, 2024 - I ended up returning the Jabras and instead got a pair of Rexton Reaches. What a difference! First, the Rexton domes are soooo much more comfortable (I’m using their sleeve shaped domes).

r/HearingAids on Reddit: Rexton vs Jabra
August 6, 2024 -

First time poster so hopefully I give enough information. I am 36 years old with mild to moderate cookie bite hearing loss. I mostly struggle with voices - which is even worse in noisy settings.

I got fitted for Costco Jabra Enhance pro 20 a little over a month ago, and for the most part they perform well. I do however struggle with a few things.

  1. the sudden noise protection is way too sensitive. I have gotten this adjusted twice but it will still cut off even when I’m simply closing a door sometimes.

  2. Being younger I go to a lot of gatherings, restaurants, and bars with friends. These hearing aids really struggle in these settings. It will only pick up one voice, or they they will cancel out the person I’m talking to, but pick up an obnoxious person a few tables over talking loudly. I always feel completely confused and honestly they make it even harder than just not hearing at all sometimes.

  3. my own voice sounds like I’m talking through a walkie talkie

  4. they sound sharp and tinny most of the time. I can’t even take phone calls from them as they sound so bad.

I have gone in for a few adjustments, and after doing quite a bit of research inquired about the new Rexton Reach since their marketing addresses a lot of the specific issues I’m having. However, the audiologist on staff at my Costco is pretty adamant that these aren’t a good fit for me and that the Jabras are the best they offer. I’m of the opinion that if one thing was best for everyone then they wouldn’t bother having options. I asked to buy a pair of Rexton so I could test side by side but she refused.

My question is if I am crazy in thinking that I should go see a different Costco audiologist since this one is seemingly being difficult and isn’t listening to my actual concerns. I feel like she is just pushing a product on me without truly understanding my concerns.

My wife's hearing aids were bought through the audiologist whose office is in the same suite as an ENT doc. The brand name is Widex and they cost $4,000. She's satisfied but, same as me, not life-changing and improved-but-not-"fixed." I find it frustrating that neither the Lexies nor the Rextons ... More on bogleheads.org

Rexton vs Jabra
Rexton Reach (aka Signia IX) is more advanced than the Jabra 20 (aka ReSound). Especially trying to hear speech in noisy environments. Better tracking of users speaking around you and isolating the background noises. Also, I heard your complaint a lot from others about Jabra / ReSound being tinny in sound. More on reddit.com

Rexton or Jabra--getting hearing aids at Costco
Depends which Rexton. If it's the latest one (Reach?), I'd get that. Mainly because I've just returned a set of Jabras and I've seen some good early reviews on the Rexton. More on reddit.com

Costco: Rexton, Phillip Hearlink, or Jabra Enhance Pro 20
I have Philips 9040s, work great with Samsung Note20U, Longer wires and smaller domes increased comfort. Support has been great. I asked what HAs they would recommend based on results of my hearing test. They recommended the Philips. Check Consumer Reports site for hearing aid reviews from their members. 'Best' is relative... Have only had Philips. More on reddit.com
