The email isn't a scam, but there won't be tracking info. RM just acknowledged it will enter their system, that's it.

Well, it may still be in Customs, in which case Canada Post hasn't been able to "accept" it yet. "International Tracked" UK products will be expedited through Canadian Customs (as opposed to untracked packets or lettermail) which are treated as low priority. Air and surface shipping can take 2-7 days (respectively) to get to Canada, and upwards of 2 weeks to get cleared by the CBSA (but 6 is not unheard of).
But in most cases, Royal Mail "tracked" items will only show domestic tracking. There's a long backstory to it, but basically when they privatized Royal Mail the new operator didn't want to pay for international tracking agreements outlined in the UPU.
However, if it was "international tracked and signed" then Canada Post will still honor the signature. You might find intermittent updates to the tracking if you use a third party parcel tracking site, but out of spite Canada Post will not update tracking further. It's still being scanned, it's just not showing on Canada Post's tracker. This is where the third party sites sometimes catch blips of where it's checking in.
In the future if you're ordering from the UK, use an expedited courier or parcelforce (EMS) if you need it tracked. EMS will still be handled by Canada Post but it'll be tracked the whole way.
