January 4, 2024Why did Sam Worthington’s career never take off after Avatar?
He seems to get stuck in the roles he acts, idk why he hasn't become bigger but I prefer him this way. He was a pretty good Terminator in Terminator 4. Personally he's a good voice actor even if his accent slips though occasionally. Cod BO had a scene where Mason has a funny accent slip up, well twice actually. one scene in the beginning he says "today's the day we succeed" in a rather pirate-ish accent. Then when you become a PoW he says "You Fookin Sunovha bitch!" In a strong Scottish like accent which is strange because he's Australian IRL and he's playing an American character. More on reddit.com

I think the difference is that they finally gave him something to do. Almost all of his roles are the most boring ass milk toast action man characters. That applies also to the first avatar. But in the way of water they actually gave him a bit to chew on with Jake being stuck in military mode, only able to see the world through that lens. More on reddit.com
