Thanks for trying, but it didn't resolve my problem with Samsung AKG headphones. They appear in the device manager, but they do not appear as speakers in the speaker selection at the bottom right of the screen. It seems the device is still considered to be only a microphone and not headphones.

USB-C earphones not working - Samsung Community
October 18, 2025 - Unfortunately, after trying every possible solution, I chose to have the usb charging board replaced. It was $90 and took 20 minutes. Not real happy about it, as I'm sure my phone is less waterproof than it was before, but my wired earbuds work now.

Samsung USB C Headphones Not Working (What To Do) – audiolgy.com
For example, certain older phones might not support USB Type-C audio output or might only work with specific models of headphones. You need to find the Bluetooth option in the settings menu of your device, open it, and see if it’s on. In the settings, you can dig even further to check which Bluetooth devices the smartphone is linked to. These are several techniques you can use to fix broken USB-C earphones.

My AKG Type C earphones doesn't work on m… - Apple Community
Read the fine print on Samsung's website, they specify they are only compatible with certain Samsung devices. The issue is there are 2 ways to do audio through USB c, passive and active. Passive sends a digital stream through the port and requires a DAC on the headphones to decode it. Active sends the audio stream through the internal DAC then the decoded signal out to the headphones. ... r/samsung on Reddit: Samsung AKG USB-C Earbuds- Can't get the built in mic to work using laptop?
July 22, 2020 -

I have the Samsung AKG USB C earbuds that came with my galaxy note 10+. They work great for sound ouput when plugged into my laptop. However I can't get the built in mic on the wire to work when the output is also the earbuds. For example in Discord if I set input to the Earbuds and output as Speakers, the mic works fine. But when I have both the input and output set to the Earbuds, I can't hear anything.

Has anyone been able to use their USB C earbuds for both input and output at the same time?

Edit: Okay, so I have gotten both to work at the same time by enabling Spatial Sound: dolby atmos for headphones. I saw it in another post. No idea why this makes it work but it does.

r/samsung on Reddit: Why does my USB type C earphones not work with my phone but works on the galaxy s20?
January 12, 2025 -

Hey everyone, So I have the Samsung galaxy s21 FE 5G and I bought a pair of usb type C earphones to grab and go when I forget to charge my buds. However when I tried it on my phone the audio wouldn't transfer onto the phone. I thought it was just the faulty earphones as I just bought it from a regular store and not the samsung store itself but when I tried it on the Samsung galaxy s20, it worked perfectly. Does anyone why?

The volume on my tab automatically goes to 0 when I connect my akg type c earphones. It has been happening since 3 days.

The same set of earphones are working fine on my samsung s20+.
