I've been thinking of gettin a GW7 since it has all the features i need. The only down side is the battery life, or so i've reader. But havent found any recent opinions.
How muchbattery life can i get out of it with normal use, definetly no AOD. I know normal use is relative but im trying to get a feeling if i can deal with a low battery life or it is as bad as i've heard (2 recharges/day).
Coming from my GW5 Pro I'm going to regret this it seems. I figured it would be very efficient in battery life overall and make it at least a day and a half.

I'm fairly new to smart watches in general. I charged my watch every night. It was fully charged and I've had it on since 6 am. It's now almost 5pm...my battery is at 8 percent. Is this normal? I got this watch a few day ago. Is it possible to keep all the health features without draining the watch so quickly?
I have traded the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic for a Galaxy Watch 7 44mm and have noticed the 7 doesn't get nearly as good battery life. The 7 seems like a better, smoother watch but the battery life seems off. Anyone have any solutions? I got 2 full days on my 6 classic. At current rate, I'll get 1 full day on my 7.
Downloads, updates, it's new and you're playing with it, apps aren't optimized and all doing stuff in the background. Give it a few days and see
My GW7 has gone 100% -> 10% in almost 24 hours with following settings:
-
Aod off
-
Heart rate measure continuously
-
Stress level measure continuously
-
Blood oxygen during sleep on
-
Skin temperature during sleep off
-
Wiifi off
-
Location on
For the record, I did walk quite a bit today (10k steps) but nothing else out of ordinary. In the battery usage menu it also shows that Google Assistant drained the battery more than any other app with 11.1% and One UI Watch Home with 4.5% in the second place.
Edit: typo
The reviewer claims that the 40 mm should last two days without charging (with AOD off).
Hi Friends !
I'm considering getting a Galaxy Watch again, but I've never picked the most comfortable one for me.
I already had a Gear S3 and a Watch Pro 5, but I resold them because of the size. I always choose the bigger screen and better battery life. However, after a few weeks, the size started to annoy me.
So I want to try a smaller one with a 40 mm screen, but I'm really worried about the battery life. My goal is to charge it every two days while I take a full shower (this worked with the Pro 5). I also sleep with it for sleep analysis. I don't use the always-on screen.
I also love the idea of having Gemini hands-free, but the 8 is not quite to my taste. It's not completely ugly, but I much prefer the 7. Does Samsung plan to add Gemini to the 7 at a later date?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
I just bought the Watch 7 LTE 40mm for my 8 year old. It's been in kids mode with LTE and GPS always on (that's the point) and wifi/Bluetooth off when she leaves for school. The battery usage learning stage is done and now the estimate is a little over 12 hours on a full charge... Is this correct?
Thinking about trading in Watch 5 44 mm for Watch 7 40mm for better fit since the Watch 6 & 7 40 mm has larger display and smaller bezels.
I know the Watch 5 44mm has a larger battery, but I've read that the battery life of the 40 mm vs 44 mm is roughly the same since the larger display also uses more battery.
Does anyone know if that's true?
I had the GW7 40mm Bt variant and even after learning my usage patterns it could hardly last 1.5 days sometimes not even a single day but now changing to 44mm LTE variant the jump feels huge. Also the display looks better not only because of the larger area but it feels as if the apps were first optimised for this screen and then were dialed down for the 40mm one.
I'm considering to purchase a Galaxy Watch 7 in the near future. I've read a couple articles and some of them mention terrible battery life, less than a day. Is that actually true? What are your experiences?
Hi, Many complained about the autonomy a few months ago. But today is it better after the updates? I want to use the watch for sleep and health data monitoring (heart rate all day, steps but gps off). What can I expect with AOD off and bluetooth off ? Thanks
Is it more than a day? I remeber Watch 4 battery life, and it was significantly improved after updates.
Hey everyone,
Iโve had my Galaxy Watch 7 for about 3 weeks now and Iโm really struggling with battery life. Iโm only getting around 14 hours on a full charge, which feels far below what Samsung advertises (they claim 48 hours. I was at least expecting 30โ36).
Hereโs my current setup:
-
Mobile Network: On
-
Raise Wrist to Wake: On
-
Auto-detect Workouts: On
-
Always On Display (AOD): Off
-
Touch to Wake: Off
-
NFC: Off
-
Heart Rate: Every 10 mins
-
Stress Monitoring: Continuous
-
Hey Google: Off
-
Software: Fully up to date
Is this normal for others using the LTE version?
Curious if anyone else is experiencing the same or if I should consider getting it checked. Any tips to improve battery life would also be appreciated!
Thanks in advance ๐
Hello,
I was wondering what I can expect for battery life for the Watch 7 44mm. I have been very excited to open it but I just saw the reviews claiming it has absurdly bad battery life (pretty much every single review).
I would like it to at least last from 9am to 9pm. I don't really want any other watch and I can't get an apple watch because I have a Samsung phone.
I have a very basic Casio watch that I wear everywhere so I wouldn't be wearing the Samsung watch everywhere (probably just for workouts).
I saw one review where the battery only lasted 3 hours 55 minutes (this would not be enough).
Is the battery life worth it or should I just return it now and get a different one?
Looks like about 13 hrs on a full charge with AOD & LTE off. This is about half of what i get from my Watch6 44mm, with both AOD and LTE on! ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Apparently its not supposed to happen, I have a similar issue but there's a planned fix in the works according to another post on here a day or two ago
After a week if yours like this then something is wrong. Advertised is 40hrs with AOD off. Those that get 2-2.5 days we don't really know the "exact" usage etc just based on battery usage indicator. Mine is around 40hrs as advertised with AOD off and health functions ON except stress & sleep skin temp OFF. With power saving + health ON around 2 days 15 hrs.
Mine is W7 44mm non LTE
I am interested in getting the galaxy watch 7, but I am unsure about the size. My wrists are pretty small for a male (about 15cm circumference and 53mm width).
At the moment, I have the Polar Ignite 3, which is a 43mm watch, but the lugs don't protrude so much outwards, so it doesn't look that big. Also, the strap goes straight down as opposed to the GW 7. Based on my measurements, I should be able to get the 44 mm without it looking too big?
Also, now that the battery bug is known, how is the battery after the update? I would like it to last at least 2 days with a daily 1.5 hour workout (gym, so no GPS) and all the health features enabled.
Thanks.
