Samsung Washer Dryer C$799
Samsung combo washer and dryer install upstairs for a townhome
I wouldn't buy a Samsung washer/dryer unit...

I'm having troubles right from the start. I did the calibration and I made sure it was level just like any other washer. But when they did the normal and I did the super speed I did high temps on both and an hour for drying, and it can't wash two blankets, one medium sized and a small one.And then on my first load, I did a large blanket in the cover for the bed.And it's always comes out wet, and I have to put it in for another hour. Am I doing something wrong
Any reviews on these Samsung washer and dryer would be appreciated. They previous had instant $50 promotion not at the moment. Replacing 5 year old GE Profile set, any thoughts on the new GE Profiles would be helpful as well, thank you!
Should I trust Costco delivery on this?
Hey all,
You have no idea how happy it makes me to see that there is already a "Samstung" flair in this sub. That's hilarious and very timely.
I guess from that I am not the first, but I came here to tell everyone that I'd recommend AGAINST buying SAMSUNG appliances. I went for a washer dryer combo from COSTCO because the deal was good ($999 for the set delivered) and I thought that SAMSUNG would be a reliable brand. Also, who doesn't want a washer or dryer that sings Die Forrelle to you when it's done. I mean, I don't like killing fish...do you like killing fish? Anyway, I digress...
Beautiful top loader washer only 2.5 years old and the barrel started bashing horribly into the side of the machine even when it was empty. This wasn't a load balance issue...it was broken. Being handy, I checked the damper springs...all okay. This would indicate that one of the spider arm supports on the bottom of the inner barrel snapped meaning that the unit was basically toast.
I called SAMSUNG support and...nothing. Even though the unit was only 2.5 years old - it was out of warranty and that was it. They did offer to set up an expensive service call for me which was very nice of them....(*SARCASM*). The thing that companies either don't understand or don't do a proper calculus on is that if you don't do good will when your product is defective (i.e., helping even if you don't have to) it spurs bad will in the form of negative reviews and public sentiment (like this post). Reputation is the ultimate accountability...not the strict limits of the warranty.
Anyway...having nothing to lose I continued to remove the inner barrel which is a very time consuming and frustrating process. Turns out the spider support arms were fine, but the main nut connecting the barrel to the motor spline was completely loose! A simple washer and nut with no locking what so ever shook loose after only 2.5 years! I was able to fix it for now but... if you weren't handy this would have been a very expensive repair or a new machine.
**Talk about a horrible design! I'd recommend NOT BUYING A SAMSUNG APPLIANCE as I got....."**Samstung".
