It will release in June 12, 2026, with the Wayans returning to write and produce. The film series combined has grossed almost 900 million worldwide. Do you think the film sequel has potential to be a success despite parody movies not being big in the zeitgeist anymore? I suppose it depends on what movies they will parody.
Though not often emphasized in US discussion, it's worth remembering that Scary Movie has historically performed very well in Latin America, especially Brazil, a huge comedy market. If the Wayans deliver globally recognizable humor (slapstick, absurdity), international audiences could drive solid returns, even if the US cultural moment has shifted.

If the Wayans bros get creative control again that would be great. The first one is legendary, the second is good but they were rushed into making it, after they lost control the rest were just meh with a few funny moments.
