My experience with the Shark PowerDetect Cordless Stick Vacuum
Have you done the monthly maintenance of cleaning the filters yet? Hardly hassle free, theres 6 filters total which need regular cleaning. 3 in the vac, 3 in the dock. Any vac performs well when new, the true test is after 6 months to a year. Does it still work like new and is the maintenance needed to keep that performance unreasonable? I don't usually recommend these self empty sharks because of just how many items there are which need regular cleaning. More on reddit.com

How long will the battery run?
The initial charge on the battery pack (out of the box) is approximately 30%. Charge the battery completely before first use. During first use, run the battery down until it is completely out of power. This will condition the battery. Runtimes are based on a new, fully charged battery. Like all lithium-ion products, the battery will naturally decrease in capacity over time. In ECO mode, the battery can achieve up to 70 minutes of runtime.

I was thinking about getting the Dyson V15s, but I’m not sure I really need the mopping feature. While browsing around, I came across Shark and ended up watching a few YouTube videos comparing different options. Now I’m kind of leaning toward the Shark Power Detect Cordless, it doesn’t require switching heads between hardwood and carpet, and the suction looks just as good as the Dyson. I’ve never used a Shark before though. or should I stick with Dyson? Anyone have experience or thoughts? Would love some input. Thanks!

I have tried a few cordless models, and the Shark Power Detect Stick Vacuum holds up well because it automatically adjusts suction depending on the surface. It saves time when switching between tile and rugs.

I’ve got it and I know this sub hates shark but honestly I love it, idk if you’re looking at the self emptying one but if you are it’s amazing and makes it always ready to go, empty bin and charged but I’m also impressed with the battery and power. Most of the time I use it in the auto mode but sometimes I use it all in boost and it still lasts and gets everything out the carpet. I can usually do my whole house on one charge and that’s enough for me. Weird quirk about it and I’m not sure if its the tool or a weird configuration with the power modes but using the “pet tool” on the stairs makes it drain power really quick, like 40% for 14 stairs. The only other thing is that it requires a bit more maintenance than usual but that’s just rinsing the filters, in my opinion I say that’s fine, literally just rinse it and let it dry a day I know I’m horrible at explaining stuff but for a 2 story house with a mix of hard flooring and carpet it works just fine and safe to say it is very convenient to not lug around a heavy unit with a cable that gets in the way
