I have 100% success from every sale of Emerald Urethane. Home owners and pro contractors. I always recommend an ultra soft high quality brush (Purdy Syntox) and Mohair roller. No matter the sheen the end result will be smooth like it was sprayed. This looks like this is put in too heavy, over worked - maybe the wrong tools. Don’t blame a product for human error. I’ve had customers use emerald urethane over oil based and have been successful. But I always recommend priming because you just never know. Looks like an adhesion issue, first guess being underside was still too slick. I’ve had it explained to me that when heavy duty urethanes and trim cure, they can form some waves or bubbles during drying process (happened with polycrylic too). I’d give it some time, paint does weird stuff. If still product failure, definitely consider priming. honestly, how bad is SW Emerald Urethane for cabinets? 1 coat of primer, 2 coats of Emerald Urethane. yes, I know there's a lot of hate for Emerald Urethane for cabinets, it's not meant for cabinets. yes, I know there are a lot of better options. but how bad is it really? what can I expect to go wrong with Emerald Urethane?
What if cure time doesn't matter? Cure time shouldn't be an issue for me, cabinets won't be used until fully cure anyways (~30days)
Lastly, please don't recommend other brand lines/brands to me. I'm just an avg consumer, not painting myself, just getting feedback from contractors I'm interviewing

It's not bad at all We use Emerald UTE Semi Gloss for kitchen cabs in our rentals. Holds up great. And we apply it by hand / using 3/16 velour mini rollers. The key for us was to full prep (degrease, sand, wipe down etc, extreme bond primer, then (3) thin coats). The cabinets with the UTE is very washable, no issues at all. Are there better products? Sure. But we get it for $50/gal and it's hard to beat for that. And it's so easy to apply even our handy guys can do it and it comes out great.
