I have 100% success from every sale of Emerald Urethane. Home owners and pro contractors. I always recommend an ultra soft high quality brush (Purdy Syntox) and Mohair roller. No matter the sheen the end result will be smooth like it was sprayed. This looks like this is put in too heavy, over worked - maybe the wrong tools. Don’t blame a product for human error. Has anyone actually used both? Any real world experience? Lowe’s has the infinity on sale right now with a rebate ($15 off per gallon) coming out to about I think $32/gal? Sherwin Williams emerald is about $11-12/gal more expensive when they have 40% off.
Can you get away with 1 coat for the emerald?

I’ve used both. I just finished painting with emerald two weeks ago and had no problems with application or finish. I used the Lowe’s SW paint a year ago and ended up returning the paint to Lowe’s after painting two coats (finished with Benjamin Moore paint). The finish turned out streaky and not uniform. I used the same brand/type roller cover for both paints and covered the same exact same paint (my entire house was the same color when I moved in). I feel like I’ve done enough painting to realize that it’s worth spending the extra money for better paint. I’ll won’t buy paint from Home Depot or Lowe’s anymore. I also created a SW profile at the store and they emailed me a $10 off coupon for signing up. I would plan on two coats of paint no matter what you end up using.

I love the emerald line. But unless you are spraying it, there really is no such thing as one coat coverage.

July 30, 2019 - I am a cabinet and furniture refinisher and we use Emeral Urethane all the time and i spray through an HVLP with compressed air. I found that thinning with 22.5% distilled water gives outstanding results and hardness. I do a drop test sometimes for potential clients where i drop a cabinet door onto concrete in their driveway to show the hardness of the door. For rolling we use Sherwin Williams 4" Flockfoam roller, back roll nice and slow with even strokes, also we try to limit the time applying the paint, I do not thin or use any retarder when rolling and there are minimal brush marks.

Friends @ SW - Hope it's ok to ask a product question in this forum.
I'm a longtime SW fan (20 years of only the best paint (and your advice) in my house). I see the Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel that I used to paint some interior doors isn't in stock near me in Columbus, OH. I'd like the other doors (in the same hallway) to match. Outside of the same color, of course, what product would you recommend I sub? I can also wait, if it's not going to be months. I'm also eyeballing the Lowes "Sherwin Williams" product which appears to be similar, but I dubious that the Lowes formulations are the same. Thanks for your good advice, as always.

Pro industrial water based urethane is essentially the same thing and would be a good sub. B53w2151 is the rex number for the white semi-gloss. It also comes in low sheen(satin) and gloss. Just a heads up this can also be a little tricky to find but is much more available right now than the emerald trim urethane.

If it can wait a week or two (I saw your comment about waiting for a 30% off sale), most of the sheens/bases in the Emerald Trim are restocking. I received a bunch on my order this week. Ohio and I would be assigned to the same warehouse. Then it would be the same as your existing work, and qualify for the sale price, too :)
