Did you buy that new? I believe Ridgid shop vacs have an automatic lifetime warranty without having to register it. My vac went out, they made me take off the inlet filter part so you can see the metal fan blower and send them a pic. I think they wanted to see that it was not rusted out from water , they didn't say this just my guess. They shipped me a new one and told me to trash the old one. I fixed my old one and gave it to my dad. Try giving Ridgid shop vac line to a call and see what they say. More on reddit.com
