This will also allow you to shut off the water at the shower. If you don't want to spill water in your house you'll need to put a spray nozzle at the other end. I'd like to jump in on this thread as I have the same issue. I need to replace the hose to my handheld shower for a fixture we got from some UK company years ago. I've measure carefully with a caliper and the outside diameter for the threaded male end coming from the fixture is definitely 13/16. I did a little research and apparently this is possible for certain European and specialty fixtures (it was a high end fixture at the time). I'm currently looking for either a native hose that will fit this threading or an adapter so I can jump onto to the more common 1/2 inch size. The shower handheld needs to be replaced as well so I'm not worried about the other end of the hose. Anyone have any experience or advice for converting 13/16 OD male to 1/2 NPT male connection? Is this a little too crazy/stupid? I am hoping to run a garden hose from somewhere in my house. I’ll explain why later, but my idea is to remove my shower head and attach a garden hose. Maybe one of the light weight expanding ones? My concern is that constantly blocking and starting the water flow (by pinching the hose) would build up some kind of pressure that would pose any problem for the plumbing.
Since I’m looking to slowly water a bunch of plants and not spray water and mud throughout my entire apartment, would I be able to somehow attach a flow regulator (like the one my shower head has)?
Why? Well, my hobby is indoor gardening and I’m also disabled. Carrying water over and over again to my plants has made it difficult to balance keeping them alive and minimizing my pain. I live in a ground floor apartment with no access to an outdoor hose.
Please comment if you have any alternative or better ideas! If this has any risk of causing the pipes to burst then I will for sure have to come up with something else.
