I work in a kitchen and bath showroom and we sell both Moen and Delta, as well. They're both considered mid-range products, but I will sell Delta long before I will sell Moen. That being said, like any manufacturer, there will be difference in how each product feels. I don't know which line you went with but I've never had an issue with the quality of most of their products. Anyway, as long as you are still in the rough-in stage (wall is open), you can easily change out the valve. I'm not familiar with Signature Hardware quality... But the amount of people I have calling me asking if I carry it leads me to believe it's at the very least quite popular, although the pricepoint tells me it's probably not a step-up. December 17, 2014Delta Shower Faucet Set Screw Completely Stripped
Drill out the set screw. Then purchase a new trim kit or just the handle. This is not uncommon with delta shower handles. The hole in the handle points up during use. It collects soap which hardens inside. A small dab of silicone caulk over the set screw hole during installation prevents this buildup.

Delta shower faucet only produces hot water in between the two connecting red lines on the cold water side. When the handle gets turned all the way to the hot side the water comes out very cold. I’m a first time home owner and I want to learn how to do some of the repairs around the house. What would be the issue and potential fixes for this?

Our local bathroom/kitchen supply store talked us into getting Delta for our shower head/faucet and sink faucets. They steered us away from Moen (which they also sell) saying Delta has a better reputation etc. We had the contractor install the $40 rough-in kit and drain and work continued. Well I finally got around to opening the boxes to the Delta stuff we picked out and to my horror - the quality feels really cheap. The metal used on the Delta faucets feels very thin and some parts even feel like plastic. These aren't builders-grade products you find at Home Depot mind you, these are $300 faucets, each. Can I change to a different brand or am I stuck with Delta? I don't know if rough-in kits are brand specific. We've purchased a faucet from Signature Hardware for our kitchen and it's extremely heavy and feels very well made. I don't think there's a problem replacing the sink faucets but it's the shower I'm worried about. Is delta junk?

I think Delta quality is pretty good but I prefer moen. If your plumber is any good he s/b able to easily change out the valve while in ri=ough-in phase
