Is the Simmons Hybrid a good mattress?
Can you flip a Simmons Hybrid mattress?
How long will the Simmons Hybrid last?
Hello, everyone,
I made an account specifically for this post. I am in the market for the most comfortable soft/plush mattress. After going to Mattress Firm, I fell in love with the Beautyrest Black Hybrid Clermont mattress. I negotiated with the salesman and came to the price of $2,700 for a king size, out the door, with a free Columbia pillow, which my fiancé loved.
My question: it retails for $3,700 in a king size, am I getting a good deal? If not, do you all have any other recommendations for similar mattresses?
I appreciate everyone’s time.
So I bought a queen sized Beautyrest Hybrid Plush mattress back in January (link to the one I bought: https://www.mattressfirm.com/beautyrest/hybrid-13.5-inch-plush-mattress/mfi132767.html ), and it was delivered on January 30th. So I thought I would post some of my thoughts on it since some of you were really helpful to me back in January. Overall, I'm satisfied with the mattress, but I'm also considering trying a different mattress as well. It's definitely not a plush mattress, and its more of a medium-firm mattress to me. I'm a stomach sleeper so the firmness was a positive overall to me. I'm 5'2" and 130lbs, so it may feel softer for someone who weighs more. On a scale to 1 to 10, it'd be about a 6 or 7 to me as far as firmness levels go.
I have some lower-back and mid-back pain some mornings after sleeping on it. However, I'm not sure if it's the mattress yet that's a big cause of the back pain. I have some minor health issues, and I'm also not physically active like at all. So I've been doing light stretches a couple times a day, and that seems to be helping some with the back pain when I wake up in the morning. My lower back pain was a good deal worse with my old mattress, and there was a noticeable indentation on it.
It also is a little bit of a warm mattress when I sleep on it as well. I got bamboo sheets for it when I bought the mattress, and my comforter is a pretty thin quilt. So the mattress sleeping warm isn't really a big con for it so far. However, I am in the southern US and it's getting warmer by the day here, so this may become a bigger issue the closer it gets to summer.
Overall, I'm leaning towards keeping the mattress, but I haven't made up my mind on it yet. It does feel like the middle portion of the mattress got broken in first as its a little softer. I got the free adjustable base with it when mattress firm was doing a deal for it, and I have been using it some nights to watch tv and such. If I were to give it a rating, I'd probably give it a 4 out of 5 so far.
Edit: After 4 months I'm returning or exchanging the mattress. It became too soft, more so in the middle, and I've been waking up with lower back pain in the morning.
