You will need to refer to the specific upsell app for information on how to inject the tracking code on their pages. Hey everyone,

I’ve run into a bit of a tracking issue and could really use some advice. I run a Shopify store and currently use the Simprosys Google Shopping Feed App to manage my product feeds and track conversions (Enhanced Conversion Tracking via API).

However, I’ve noticed that around 30% of conversions (from Google Shopping campaign) are not being tracked. I REALLY wanna gather all the data so I have to fix this issue.

Simprosys is a solid reliable option that takes care of your Google Ads tracking, remarketing tagging, and feed. Stick with that unless you need to do something fancy like server side tracking. And yes, even if you have GTM installed and are using it for other things, it's not necessary or beneficial to move the Google tags there, it's just more work for you to maintain. The missing 30% can be for many reasons, most commonly privacy related, e.g. if you use a cookie banner.

Conversion Tracking: To track a conversion in Google Ads, a user must click on your ad and complete a purchase within the defined cookie window, which is typically 30 days for Google Ads tags and 90 days for Google Analytics, as it tracks across multiple channels. However, just because a customer clicks on a product doesn't necessarily mean they will purchase that specific product, so the revenue reported might be lower than the value of the product they initially clicked on. Additionally, some upsell apps work as overlays during the checkout process, which may require extra development work to ensure conversions are tracked accurately.If a campaign is paused or a product goes out of stock, conversions will still be attributed within the cookie window (e.g. 30 days after the last click). Google Tag Manager vs Apps: Google Tag Manager is an excellent tool if you plan to use it for more than just Google Ads. If not using then i'd recommend using the normal Google app ( https://apps.shopify.com/google?show_store_picker=1 ). Opt-in Cookie Banner: Does the website use an opt-in cookie banner? If so, and a significant number of users are opting out, they won’t be tracked. Ensure that users are interacting with the cookie banner if you have one, rather than ignoring it which is a common issue at the moment. Simprosys is actually amazing. For the small fee it’s worth it. They continually add new features. I’m considering using their review platform on my next project. Also their support has been top notch.

Go for Simprosys, the feed optimization is really good while using this app and bulk segmentation and other benefits it is really worth it for the money you pay

I've only been using simprosys. The price is good, features are great, it's easy to use, and support is top notch.

The native Shopify integration now does a decent job of tagging your site and capturing conversions. But their feed management tool is still extremely basic and very limiting.

It's well worth the small cost of Simprosys just to have bulk editing capabilities.

Hi guys,

My free trial with the Google Shopping Feed app by Simprosys (available on Shopify) has ended and a lot of my products are no longer showing up on the feed (no longer syncing unless I purchase).

I’m kind of lost as to how to add new items on Google Merchant without this app. Is there something just as easy I can use? My shop is not profitable at the moment so I would prefer not to pay Simprosys, even though I liked their app.

Most of the Shopify apps to sync with Google Merchant Center are not great and you get what you pay for...when it's free. Just look for a free app with good reviews. However, paying for the right apps and tools is about investing in your business.

We use Feedonomics for all our clients and it's worth it.

Google will track anything that got a click within the attribution window and converted.... even if it gets paused since the click. Anything beyond the attribution window will not get tracked, regardless of the tracking method you pick. Google Tag Manager is a good method if you plan to set up other tracking tags for other ad platforms. If you don't plan to set up other tracking tags, then using something like the Google & YouTube app for conversion tracking works really well.

I have a client that built their own site with tons of Marchant center errors. One that I want to fix is for image issues related to text overlay. I used Simprosys originally to create the feed but recently linked using the Google and YouTube app. Will this have overwritten my original feed?

I see I can just go directly delete that image from merchant center. I also see the multifeed app reccomended. Is that a better tool than simprosys?

Anyone have any solutions for dealing with clusterfucks of feed issues?

You have not explained your situation very well. You have lots of thing going, which more details would help people give you better answers. Based on what I can understand, here are my thoughts. If you deleted the Simprosys shopping feed. Then added in the Google & YouTube app feed, then your old Simprosys feed would be over written. However, if the SKU IDs are the same across both feeds, then there won't be much of an impact as Google retains shopping data at the SKU ID level. If both the Simprosys feed and the Google & YouTube app feed are both in GMC. Then you would have both feeds mixing together. This can cause issues. In this case, you would need to delete one of the two feeds... having both feeds is not recommended. The Simprosys feed is what we recommend to clients when they want something that gives more flexibility over the Google & YouTube app. Especially clients don't want to pay for a tool like Feedonomics to manage the feeds. To fix images, you can use Google's Automatic Image Improvements or you can look at using a supplemental feed to add in new images that don't have text overlays. Image issues usually mean new images need to get pulled into your shopping from another source or client needs to add better images on the site (if automatic image improvement doesn't work).

A good app to use in the future is Simprosys Google Shopping Feed (if you are on Shopify). It lets you have tons of control with your shopping feed without having to change anything on your site. Otherwise, there are three few options out there: GMC Rules is a great option as it automates everything for you. A little more work upfront but saves you tons of times in the future A Supplemental Feed works really well at scale but requires more manual work. In the future, you can also add products one by one to GMC if you have a small feed. One and two are the most common options but it is a question of time and how much you want to save in the future.

Hi,

I connected my Shopify store with GMC via the Google & YouTube app in Shopify. However, a few of my products are not showing in GMC. When I search for those products in GMC, it shows no results. These products are active in Shopify, published in the online store, and Google & YouTube is enabled in the sales channels. Any idea why only some products are missing in GMC?

Check if those missing products have all the required Google Shopping attributes filled out in Shopify. Sometimes it's just a missing GTIN, product category, or shipping details. Head to your Shopify product pages and make sure every field in the Google & YouTube sales channel section is complete.

Install the symprosis feed - much more consistent for feed management than g&y - when in the products section of your site select all make sure you have made them eligible for sales channels

Hey all, I'm currently setting up my Google Shopping Ads Campaign for my Shopify ecommerce website.

I have about 100 products listed in my Shopify store ("Products" section). I'm using the Google & YouTube app to automatically port over the products into my Google Merchant Center.

Questions:
(1) If I wanted to edit the title, etc, is it better to edit it in the Shopify product page (and it will sync to Google Merchant Center) or in Google Merchant Center? --> considering that each variant is individually listed on Google Merchant Center

(2) What are other general best practices you found that improved your Google Shopping Ads performance (e.g. using a long landing page with benefits stated vs a shorter one, title, description)?

Get Simprosys instead of the Google & YouTube app. It allows you to edit your listings, provides enhanced conversion tracking, enables you to send your product feed to other platforms eg Meta/Facebook, Microsoft, etc. Other tips: Optimise your listings - Title, description, images, Shopify tags (add your relevant keywords to all of them in a natural and mon-spammy way). GMC - use all the relevant parameters and make sure your products are listed in the right category.

Get a shopping feed app you can edit your feed inside of or look at using a supplemental feed to make edits to your shopping feed. Fill out all optional feed attributes and make sure they are geared towards how people would search for the different products and SKUs on your site. You might as well focus on your shopping feed before doing anything else.

Just to get things started, I am considering Simprosys for their Google Shopping Feed. They seem to be the one with the most reviews and widely used. Has anyone had experience with them, or what else is best. I've been using the regular old Google & Youtube channel app, and even though it's good, and I get decent results, it seems very limited, and I think I could gain better exposure with something else.
