Hey! So I'm putting together a gift for my friends who like to cook, and the idea is a basket full of small things that people don't have but should. So far I have planned: -MSG -a tortilla press -truffle oil, toasted sesame oil and high quality olive oil
nutritional yeast
I of course realize some people have all of these but if y'all have any idea for stuff that might be a little more niche than your average salt and pepper but should be a pantry staple please lmk. Thanks!
My mom keeps bugging me for some ideas for Christmas gifts, I figured there are some essentials that I'm missing, or even ideas someone will throw out that I can get her as a gift
I'll go first with the most obvious: A good instant read meat thermometer
I’m a chef by trade and I love a good kitchen gadget. I have a well-outfitted kitchen already, and I’m not usually one for uni-taskers, but I’d like to be able to suggest something for a gift idea that I would actually use and that would be much more personal than a gift card or money, since the in-laws don’t seem to want to give either (don’t ask me why, I don’t understand it either. I guess they just want me to have something to unwrap even if I already know what it is?)
So hit me with all your favorite kitchen tools, gadgets, and tchotchkes!
Edit: wow! I just got off work and saw all these replies. I should have posted what I already had in my kitchen as a lot of these items I already own, but I think I will be asking for a pizza stone! Thank you everyone for your suggestions!
