Solo Stove Bonfire vs Yukon – Is Bigger Really Better? -
March 20, 2023 - With the smaller Bonfire, you are likely to run into fewer issues over time than with the Yukon. This may be one of the reasons Solo Stove decreased the size of the Yukon from 30” in diameter to 27” in 2020.

r/SoloStove on Reddit: Trying to decide between Yukon and Bonfire
October 4, 2022 -
Hi everyone! I'm interested in getting a solostove after reading a bunch of reviews. I'm curious if anyone has bought the Bonfire and decided they needed the Yukon? We're a family of 5, camp a few times a year but more often have family and neighbors over for parties. Its primary use will be in the backyard, but might want the portability for a low-key camping trip. How many people can comfortably be warmed up by both models. Any advice or tips appreciated. Thanks!

Trying to decide between Yukon and Bonfire
I started with bonfire and switched to Yukon. I think bonfire is easier to keep smoke down but I got tired of sorting through the wood pile for pieces to fit. Yukon will take about anything. More on reddit.com
Debating Bonfire vs Yukon, with surround?
Definitely go with Yukon if you want it in a dedicated space. The bonfire will look puny. More on reddit.com
Yukon 2.0 or Bonfire?
I'll agree with the comments that Yukon eats wood. It really does. It's not out of control but it makes big fires. I will disagree with anyone's comment that it's too hot. Yes, it gets hot, that's the point of a firepit. But it's not stand-10-feet-away hot. We stand right next to ours. It's also placed on some river stones in the grass, and the grass doesn't show any burning. It gets hot up top, not down low. Honestly, we're looking into the heat deflector for it so we can get more heat on us from it. Does standard size cut firewood fit in a Bonfire? I didn't think it did. More on reddit.com

haleysimao: Solo Stove Fire Pit- Bonfire VS. Yukon Comparison
Because the Yukon is larger width wise it is a bit more awkward to pick up by yourself, you really need 2 people to get a good grasp on it. The Bonfire size is defiantly more portable. In my opinion one of the cool perks of the Solo Stove fire pits is that they are 100% portable and can be used on multiple surfaces so portability is important!

April 8, 2024 - Solo Stove started back in 2011 with backpacking and camping wood-burning stoves. It sells four fire pits — Ranger ($200), Bonfire ($250), Yukon ($450), and Canyon ($600) — which range from 15 to 30 inches in diameter. Both Ranger and Bonfire are portable fire pits due to their smaller size and come with nylon carrying cases.

Yukon 27"
Bigger models like the Yukon and Canyon bring serious heat and ambiance. Keep extra wood nearby for those long, cozy burns. We recommend starting your fire with 2-3 logs for Ranger, 3-4 logs for Bonfire, and 4-5 logs for Yukon / Canyon.
