Are there any new restrictions in place for central management of sophos firewall home? Trying to add a home firewall serial currently results in "Firewall is More on community.sophos.com

I would highly recommend spinning up an XG VM if you can to play with it before switching. UTM and XG have a few similarities, but they're quite a bit different. UTM felt a lot easier to manage to me. The shared objects were amazing, and while there's still a bit of that in XG, it's not anywhere like it was in UTM, which is sad. Firewall rules are similar to set up, so no big difference there. Web filtering and Application filtering are quite a bit different. Web Filtering I think I like a bit more in XG than UTM, but they both still feel awkward. Application Filtering just feels like a mess to me. S2S VPN is probably a bit easier to set up, as it's all mostly on one screen now, but you do lose some of the object reuse based stuff as I mentioned above. The client VPN also seems buggy. Our users ran into a lot of issues with the client disconnecting and reconnecting at intervals. It wasn't very seemless, and we ended up switching to a separate OpenVPN solution. More on reddit.com

I've had some success putting it on one of those IBM tiny pc boxes (Core i5 4000 series). My network was VLAN capable so the single network jack wasn't an issue. It worked pretty well while I was using it, but then I switched to pfsense on a vm. Lately i'm using it as a VM on one of my sandboxes, just to check it out again. I might switch back to it depending on how my testing goes. So, you could run it just fine on an old core i5 PC with 2 network ports. More on reddit.com
