Holiday sales the past few years have been pretty hit or miss. Before covid I feel like the sales were better. Interestingly, I noticed Williams Sonoma dropping prices on Staub around Christmas (I mean like, right before Dec 25th and the week between Christmas and New Years) so you have to keep your eyes peeled. Not sure what it will be like this year though. Zwilling used to do the 4 qt cocottes with the iron lids for $99 on black Friday. But I think last year it was glass lids and they were like $129 or something. As far as 7 quarts go, I'd say if you see a decent deal somewhere, jump on it because they're a popular workhorse size. Like the Amazon deal you saw for $220 would have been what I'd consider a good price for that pot. I paid full price for mine but have no regrets. Answer from La_Croix_Life on reddit.com

In the past, have there been deeply discounted holidays sales? Really wanting to pull the trigger on a 7qt, which is currently on sale a couple places for $299. Amazon had a grenadine 7qt for $220, but now the price is up to $275. So mad I didn’t get it then!
Should I go for the $275 or do you think it will get cheaper for Black Friday, etc?

I got a 5 quart dutch oven for $150 late last spring, was pretty pleased with that one.

Ah bummer to have missed out on that! I wanted to send one to a family member who collects red LC for xmas! I have the tomato, I think I paid low $200s, so this is a fab price!

I’d rather Staub didn’t attract the tiktok/influencer attention and turn it into a disaster to get good deals like with LC. But I do agree a Staub mystery box would be sick!

I’d prefer Staub not become the Stanley cup of of cast iron cookware. A few well chosen pieces can equip a kitchen for a lifetime and should be marketed and treated as such. I’ll admit I recently purchased a new French oven that I didn’t really need because I couldn’t resist the Pink Peony, I too am a sucker for pretty colors and a good sale. But I like that Staub is’t as trendy/trending as LC.
