Hey all! I just got my first apartment, and after a few months of picking out, assembling and unpacking it feels like home. There’s still a lot to do like get things on walls, but I want to add one more piece of furniture.

In my bedroom across from my bed is a dark grey Hemnes desk where I have my computer setup, as well as a turntable (for dimension purposes it’s a LP-120, which is listed as “450.0 mm (17.72") W x 352.0 mm (13.86") D x 157.0 mm (6.1") H” on the AudioTechnica site). To the right of all that are my record crates.

I want to move the turntable onto a new table that goes between the Hemnes desk and crates. I have two Lack side tables in my living room for rear surround speakers and lamps, and they’re about the right size (could stand to be a hair bigger for the turntable), but not the right height, they’re far too short for what I’m looking for.

What’s the closest Ikea has to a table of that size that’s about twice it’s height?

Wanted a table/shelf next to the couch that didn’t need to be secured to the wall… got crafty with an EKBY ALEX shelf and some BURGSHULT shelves. It had to be tall enough that you could open the storage portion of the couch so even though it looks a little funky it actually works perfectly!

It’s awkward and not perfect, but it does exactly what I needed it too and I’m proud of it!
