Has anyone used the Target Red Card, debit version? I'm intrigued by the fact that it's benefit is 5% off at Target, no fees and it's not a credit card since I hate debt. They claim that it is tied to your existing checking, just like your normal debit card. Was thinking of signing up but was wondering if anyone had used it in the past and could give me a quick review/rating? Thanks!
I’ve been wanting to order stuff from Target recently (well, throughout the course of the pandemic...) but the $35 minimum to get free shipping is tough to work around.
I always told cashiers no whenever they asked me to apply for the REDcard, but now I’m actually interested.
Do cashiers get a material financial reward when someone applies for the REDcard through them? I’m debating whether I should just apply online or in-store. Approval shouldn’t be a problem given my credit history.
I’m in no rush for the card, but I also won’t be going to a Target in-person any time soon. But if I’m going to apply for a card anyway, it would be great if that went a long way for some cashier working hard or at the least make his or her day.
Separate question, do I need to have my physical card to pay in-store or can the cashier look me up?
The verbiage is strange and I’m just looking for anyone with experience with this to provide some insight, thanks. I’d rather not have a hard credit pull occur.
Can someone explain this to me like I am a 5 year old? A worker at Target today was telling me that Target offers a DEBIT card as well as their credit card. She said the debit card links to your bank account so it’s basically the same as your regular card, but now you get 5% off and a $50 gift card for signing up. There’s gotta be a catch right? How is Target benefiting from this at all? Am I going to get screwed somehow?
