Hi! I'm still on this journey of floor sleeping. I recently stopped using a pillow and resumed sitting on the floor while using the computer, and I've felt way better in terms of mobility and stiffness (especially around the neck).
I'm still unsure on what to buy to continue with this lifestyle, though. As I said in previous posts, I have various sleeping bags and sheets on top of each other.
I've found that I feel the best when sleeping on a hard surface, just soft enough so my joints don't hurt. I've been told that Japanese futons are just like slim mattresses, and that they let your body sink.
If I'm not mistaken, tatamis are harder, and obviously there's the benefit of preventing mold formation and heat regulation. I was thinking of using one with padding on top.
