My experience with sleep # was might I say completely unacceptable! After trying the bed which cost about $7000, movable base. The sleep number is supposed to control the firmness or softness, but reality is the softer the number the sinker it became. We decided the bed wasn't the value we thought it was now time to turn it in for refund. After about 2 hrs in customer service person, he told me that the movable base was not refundable based on contract I signed except I didn't sign one. By the way, the base was $3000. To make this story shorter and many phone calls with them I agreed to a$500 pick up cost, so when Sleep Number tells u 100 days to test it, it will cost you big time! Kim

I think both are wildly overpriced. But I would say get sleep number if you really like the feeling of sleeping on an air mattress and get tempurpedic if you really like the feel of Tempurpedic.

I’m looking for an adjustable bed mainly to help with sleep apnea, and I’ve been comparing high-end brands like Tempur-Pedic and Sleep Number to more affordable options like Nectar and Sven & Son.

Is there a real difference in quality, durability, or functionality?

Do Tempur-Pedic and Sleep Number actually justify the premium price, or are you mostly paying for the brand name?

I also have severe sleep apnea. When my wife and I were shopping for beds, we decided to buy our adjustable bed frames off Amazon as we managed to get a split king, which is just 2 twin xl bed frames, and it cost us just under $400. Comparable frames from other places were well over a grand. We went this route because we wanted 2 different comfort levels for our mattress. She got a soft plush, and I got firm, both of which are hybrid mattresses latex mattresses from Lucid bedding. Were now 5 years in and still going strong, so for us it was well worth it to go this route.

Some of them, even in queen size, fold in half like a book. That makes putting them in a U-Haul or getting them through doorways easier. Some are two pieces that get put together. They're also easy to move. Others can't be disassembled or aren't stable on their sides. Lastly, check the actual weight of the base (that's different than the capacity). They can weigh anywhere from about 100 to almost 300 pounds. I ended up getting an Ergomotion. It's sold as a Blissful Nights e5, or Southbay International SBKDT2, or ZZZen e5.
