r/Terraria on Reddit: What to do after Plantera
December 2, 2013 -

I just beat plantera with full shroomite and I dont know what to do next.

I know that there's the pumpkin moon, the dungeon, and the temple left to go. I already have turtle and shroomite armor. Also what kinds of key farms are the best right now? I have seen many different ones but it's hard to figure out which ones are outdated. Do people still use meteor heads? Ocean biome? (also idk whats so special about the ocean)

Also, please feel free to start up some general Lategame Ideas Discussion. I'll link a pic of my base here shortly

Game Mechanics - ⦉ Fixing Post-Plantera Progression ⦊
August 9, 2023 - Spring is finally here - we think - sort of? Seriously, last week we had both 80F days and a day of snow. Come on nature, make up your mind! On a serious note, work on 1.4.5.7 continues unabated. As we mentioned previously, this post launch fix update is heavily focused on balance.

r/Terraria on Reddit: advice on what to do post plantera
August 29, 2023 -

hi there me and my buddy are playing an expert world, and recently beat plantera. im a ranger and hes a yo-yo melee. i currently have a shroomite set and chlorophyte shotbow/megashark. he has the mothron yoyo and i think turtle armor.
we tried to get items to make naughty presents for frost moon (to get me a chaingun) but had a really hard time with that event and only survived till the 2 or 3 santa spawned (no drop cause bad luck).

also getting those was pretty difficult since the post plantera dungeon has some strong mobs and we got fucked by paladins diabolitianists and so on.

what should we do in such case? is it just a skill thing or we are going in the wrong order of progression?

What do you do after you beat Plantera in Terraria? - Quora
Answer (1 of 2): Beating the golem is what brings you to the next stage of the game, but it’s not recommended that you do this immediately. You can find it in the jungle temple, whose door you can now unlock with the key plantera dropped. Be warned that it’s full of dangerous traps.

Was exploring the jungle looking for life fruits when I accidentally destroy a bulb, so now I have defeated Plantera for the first time. What is the next step and what is everything I can do to prep for it? Never been this far before lol

(Also, super unrelated but, does anyone else wish Estee the Star is a light pet instead??? She is my favorite)

Well, the next boss is called Golem. The way you find him is a bit complex. First you need to search your Jungle for a large structure made of orange-brown bricks, this structure is called the Temple. Its entrance will be in one of the top corners, find said corner and use the key that Plantera should have dropped to open it. Walk through the passages (careful of the enemies and traps), and if you find any chests/enemies open/defeat them. This has a chance to give you an item called the Lihzahrd Power Cell (chests have a 1/1 chance and enemies have a 1/50 chance), which you use to summon Golem. If you keep on going down the Temple, you'll eventually reach a room with an altar-lookin' thing with a Sun hovering above it, called the Lihzahrd Altar. Right-click the Lihzahrd Altar with a Lihzahrd Power Cell, and this will summon Golem. I would advise you set up a platform very near the top of the Lihzahrd Altar Room to use as an arena, and also have some healing blocks like Honey, Campfires, and Heart Lanterns. Defeating Golem will give you a weapon, but you don't have to use it. Opening chests may have gotten you a Solar Tablet, and defeating enemies may have given you Solar Tablet Fragments. You can craft Solar Tablet Fragments into a Solar Tablet at an Orichalcum/Mythril Anvil, and using a Solar Tablet will summon a new event called a Solar Eclipse. A Solar Eclipse may also occur naturally once Plantera is defeated. During this event, you might encounter a large moth-like enemy called Mothron. Killing Mothron has a 1/2 chance to drop an item called a Broken Hero Sword, which you can craft with a True Night's Edge and True Excalibur into a Terra Blade, a powerful melee weapon which shoots a wide projectile as well. Another way to get a different weapon is to defeat a different boss, of which there are two options. The first is Empress of Light, and her summon is found in the Hallow - that summon being a Prismatic Lacewing, which can spawn in the Surface Hallow from 7:30 pm to 12:00 pm (in-game). Defeating a Prismatic Lacewing will summon the Empress of Light, however it is recommended (by me, at least) to do this shortly after 7:30 pm in-game time, as from 4:30 am to 7:30 pm all her attacks are guaranteed to kill you in one hit. She has an equal chance to drop a weapon for each class. The second is Duke Fishron, and his summon is found in the Underground Mushroom biome - that summon being a Truffle Worm, which can spawn in the Underground Mushroom at any time. Defeating it is a terrible idea, use a Bug Net on it instead, which will allow you to pick it up. Fishing in either of the Oceans using the Truffle Worm will summon Duke Fishron. Time makes no difference for Duke Fishron, but I would strongly advise having an arena, also set up with healing blocks. Defeating him can give a weapon for each class, but at 1/5 for melee, 1/5 for ranger, 2/5 for mage, and 1/5 for summoner. That's really all you need to know for a while. EDIT: Regarding Estee the Star, I personally think it would just be logical for her to be a light pet, given she's a star.

Pantera dropped a key you need to find where to use it. Also chlorophyte armor /turtle armor is really good but you don't need a chlorophyte pickaxe drax/pickaxe-axe is good enough until you get it's dropped upgrade. Steampunker now sells the steampunker wings for some plat which is an upgrade for the wings. You can kill mothron during a solar eclipse an hope they drop a broken heros sword for a melee weapon upgrade too.

r/Terraria on Reddit: What are the best post-Plantera items?
July 24, 2015 -

Early hardmode I just used Clockwork Assault Rifle, Amarok, and Golden Showers as my weapons and Titanium armor. Now I have Hallowed Armor but working at getting Chlorophyte. I have no real class that I'm going for, but probably will be sticking to range. Right now I'm using Amarok(Waiting for Code 2 from the merchant), Light Discs, and Megashark with Crystal/Chlorophyte bullets, and the equipment I use are Hoverboard/Bee Mount for flying, Obsidian Shield, Star Veil, Frostspark Boots, then just a random piece for whatever I'm currently doing, Lava Waders for undergound, etc. Is there a better ranged weapon than the Megashark right now, or should I stick it out until I can get a Phantasm Bow? I haven't gone much into magic besides Nimbus Rod and Golden Showers but what are some bad ass spells or magic equipment that I could use? I think I could get into it.
