I don't know, but one thing you can do to get more information is request your FBI background check (identity history summary). You can do it through an online application and going to a qualifying USPS office to take your fingerprints. If you take that fingerprint route, the whole process costs about $80.

The initial background check background goes through TXDPS. I don't think they will have any other state violations on record, unless it's a federal crime and/or felony conviction. I do believe you need to be a resident for a certain amount of time before you could even apply.

Offers are generally contingent upon successful pre-employment screening (drug test, background check, etc). They are required by law to provide the results to you, so if you fail you will know why. Most companies will chat with you about the circumstance (If it's not something directly related to their liability). Background checks are taking a lot of time right now, mostly due to slow courts and understaffing (education data warehouses, etc). This is more of a their vendor issue than yours. But, you can generally speed things along by providing things like proof of education. How screwed would you be if they rescind the offer and your out of work? That's really dependent on your situation. Depending how you left, many companies would let you keep working or come back as a temp. But, again all dependent on your situation. More on reddit.com
