I love how minimal and atmospheric the teaser is for the first film.
I love the chunk of amber that houses a mosquito and the camera traveling through its eyes to reveal the Jurassic Park logo.
I also love how the narrator says "In 1993, Steven Spielberg...WILL TAKE YOU THERE!"
No dinosaurs. No set pieces. Just build up!
It is so epic. And the music in the teaser just gives off that early 90s Spielberg whimsy (it reminds me of Hook). It is when John Williams was using more vocals in his chorus.
The Lost World Jurassic Park teaser is another beast entirely.
I love the ambient nature sounds are the same ones that adorned the Universal logo in the first film and the rainfall.
It already is giving a sense of deja vu and that you've heard those sounds before, even if you can't quite place where you heard them before.
Then you see a lighting flash and thunderclap. And you see the words "SOMETHING HAS SURVIVED".
A heavy, ominous footfall can be heard against black between each word. Getting louder and more pronounced.
And then you see the buck and the foot slams down in the mud!
No matter how many times I've seen it, it still gives me chills. Especially that prehistoric howl when The Lost World logo shows up in the rippling water.
I love how the teaser represents The Lost World itself
While the first teaser is intrigue and inviting you to come on an adventure (like an ad at an amusement park), the teaser for TLW is bombastic and let's you know there are no fences or guards on this island.
Go at your own risk.
Teasers for films is a lost (ba dum tisssss) art.
