ThinkPad T series

In my office we all have Thinkpads T series and in some cases P series.

I have a T14 Gen1 and have had multiple issues:

• Computer restarts while in sleep mode (mostly in S0 sleep, but have experienced it in S3 too)

• Monitors connected to Dock didnt start unless rebooting (fixed by firmware / bios update)

• FAN error while startup if Dock is connected

• Sudden shutdowns even if battery reports 40%

• USB Keyboard only works 50% of the time after resume.

My Collegue has just abanoned his T14 Gen 3 becuase :

• Monitors would scramble and Computer locks up

• Bluescreens

• Crash with no ability to restore without rebooting system

• Computer wouldn't run 2x 2560x1440 + Laptop FHD monitor without fiddling with AMD software

My boss had these issues with 2 different T series:

• Sudden shutdowns

• Crash / Reboots while moving the laptop

My other collegue had to replace his Thinkpad T14 because:

• Constant problems with crashes

• Sudden shutdowns while working.

• Screen errors

• Computer would shutdown when entering S0 / S3 sleep, when Windows Locked it !!

All over the company (60 people) i've heard other people having weird quirks and issues with reboots while in sleep and shutdowns while in sleep or moving their laptops.

The sad thing is that Dell and Apple also have their weird issues, so changing brand completely would most likely just turn into other problems :(

Puchase issues

All new laptops T14 Gen3/4 have Soldered RAM, which means that the options of purchasing them has become even more limited if you need eg 32GB ram like we do. Not every reseller carry that option.
