My experience with them has been pretty decent. Outside of the merger, they've only gotten better.

We've had accounts at both SunTrust and with BB&T, pre-Truist, for years, and we really like SunTrust a lot, and really disliked BB&T, mainly because it seemed like every time we walked into the BB&T branch, there was a new branch manager (or maybe they didn't even have a branch manager), whereas we had known some of the SunTrust branch managers for years, even from the Crestar days. We have been lucky that the Truist branch that we go to still has been pretty stable, so we are sticking with them, but I think that isn't always the case with every branch (in fact, we moved a couple of years ago, and are farther from our previous branch, but we still continue to drive over to our old branch when we have business there).
