Hi all,

I am thinking about installing the HAVSTA media unit pictured here in my living room. I would love to have a fireplace. I can’t seem to find a fireplace + mantle with the same depth as the HAVSTA units (18.5”), or that would sit flush against the cabinets.

This led me to consider a potential hack. I wanted to get opinions on whether it is possible to remove the sliding doors and shelf rom the centre cabinets and install an electric fireplace insert instead. Has anyone done this before? Any thoughts or advice?

I included some photos of the HAVSTA unit as is, then a mock up I made with a fireplace insert.
