My go to for -20C was Ultrawarm heat tech tee, full zip fleece or a wool sweater and the hybrid down jacket. Very warm but also breathable.

Uniqlo's warmest jacket is the Ultra Warm Hybrid Down Coat. Haven't been to Canada but along with their ultra warm heattech and a midlayer, I have a feeling that would be warm enough.

Hi there,
I'm from Toronto and I'm shopping for a winter jacket and came across this Uniqlo jacket. I know this is not their warmest jacket but they don't mention any approximate temperature ratings so I'd like to know if anyone tried this and if this can be good enough for deep winters (Toronto winters, I think around -250c to -300c). Any other suggestions from this brand if this is not good enough?

How long outside are you normally? Are you standing at a bus stop in the middle of February? Working outdoors? Or are you just jumping from a warm car in to a warm building? Consider looking at Eddie Bauer which has (or had) some good deals on warmer parkas

I’m in need of a nice new winter coat and found one at Uniqlo that I like the look of, but it doesn’t have a lot of reviews online. It’s a seamless down parka one that says it’s water resistant. Has anyone bought a coat from Uniqlo and could provide some insight into what they’re like before I drop £130 on one?

They might not look quite as smart but my vote will always go to just buying coats from outdoor brands - they'll nearly always tend to be the best at actually doing their core purpose and keeping you warm and dry. Something from Rab, Berghaus, Montane, etc

Bear in mind that water resistant isn’t the same as waterproof. If there’s big rain, or rain for an extended period of time, you’ll get wet. If you’re just getting it for commuting or whatever, you’ll be fine. If you’re planning to walk the dog in it, you probably want waterproof. As for Uniqlo, I wear their thermals every winter and love them. Can’t speak to the quality of their coats though as I haven’t owned one.
