I'd like to think that I, as a 28 year old, am pretty solid with technology. Outside of VR, there's not a whole lot that's above my mental paygrade. But so help my ass, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get my 2021 Moto G Power to recognize my North Wireless Mic.
It really seemed as easy as plug the receiver into the USB-C port, pair the mic up to it, and you're good to go. For some reason, my phone just won't recognize it as a microphone. Like I plug the receiver in, and nothing changes. Is there a setting I'm missing, does the big standard Android camera app not recognize external mics? I'm really at a loss.

Mic keeps disconnecting and reconnecting, I have selected external mic in video drop down. But it keeps acting as though it's unplugged and replaced.
I am trying to record with a different mic and its not getting picked up through the dongle. is there any way to work around this? it keep defaulting to the onboard mic which is not ideal.
I am trying to record a video on my smart phone. I bought a Movo VXR10 but anytime it is plugged in, I cannot get any sound to play.
I am using the proper TRS to TRRS adapter cable. I have also tried TRS to TRS just for fun.
All connections are seated tightly.
The mic does not use a battery.
I have tried the mic in a samsung galaxy and also an older sony Xperia compact. Neither of them produces sound when I shoot a video.
If I remove the external mic, the internal mic kicks in and I can record sounds.
I can find no settings in either of the two phones that allow you to switch mics or manipulate the mic output in any way. I'm not a genius at these setting menus but I have looked for about 45 minutes.
Does anyone have advice for how I can get this to work? Thanks!

It seems that I cannot maintain a connection with my external usb c microphone anymore when it is plugged in.
I first noticed this in the stock camera app but also realised that the external mic will not work in apps like Instagram, Tiktok and capcut video editor.
I have restarted a few times and updated apps.
Will keep ya posted!
Android currently doesn't support USB Audio Paths. You can use USB Audio if you have a Nexus 5 with Android L Preview. Otherwise you are out of luck.
Yes, Android supports standard USB audio class devices:
Android 5.0 (API level 21) and above supports a subset of USB audio class 1 (UAC1) features:
- The Android device must act as host
- The audio format must be PCM (interface type I)
- The bit depth must be 16-bits, 24-bits, or 32-bits where 24 bits of useful audio data are left-justified within the most significant bits of the 32-bit word
- The sample rate must be either 48, 44.1, 32, 24, 22.05, 16, 12, 11.025, or 8 kHz The channel count must be 1 (mono) or 2 (stereo)
Also, Android 3.1 or higher can support USB audio if you buy an app from eXtream Software, which bundles its own drivers.
Also, your hardware has to support USB Host mode (USB On-The-Go). There are apps to test whether it does:
How can I determine if my device has USB Host Mode (OTG) support?

I have looked around forums and reddit and cannot seem to find a way to enable the phone microphones anytime a usb-c headphone adapter is used. This poses a large problem when attempting to make any phone call if the phone is plugged in to the car stereo AUX port with the usb-c adapter.
Has anyone found a hidden setting, or an app that fixes this issue?
Thanks
I bought an external microphone a few days ago for better sound quality when recording videos, but I can't get the audio to come through on my phone.
When I plug it in and turn on the video, no audio gets recorded
I have a Rhode lavaliere go, and a 3.5mm to USB-c adapter. Initially I thought it might be the adapter so I picked up a new one and I still have issues. Now my phone recognizes there's an external microphone and I can switch the audio input to wired microphone, but I still don't hear any audio on playback.
I tried plugging the microphone into my computer and recording from there and it records just fine, so it's not a bad microphone. I just don't know what to do anymore, I've had other external lapel microphones and they have worked without a hitch
