Hey everyone! Recently, I have had the tracking for several packages (5-7) show the “label created, USPS awaiting item” message, without ever updating even after the package was delivered to the customer. Now I have a customer saying they never received a package that I’m positive I shipped. I put my items in the bulk drop off rather than wait to have them scanned in, but they’ve always updated once they’re scanned.
I know this is a post office issue rather than Etsy, but I was wondering if anyone else is having similar issues? I have been a seller for close to a year, and have shipped miscellaneous stuff for years prior. It seems to have started at the same time they switched from First Class to Ground Advantage. The labels that do update, are way less informative than they used to be.
As a seller (and buyer) I rely on the tracking to know that my goods are getting to the customer in a timely manner.
I sent two identical packages at the same time by Ground Advantage. One to NY, the other to IN. I left them at the counter because our USPS clerks tell us to avoid the long wait in line. The IN package shows tracking with delivery today. But the NY package does not show any scan or receipt yet. Why would two identical packages be handled differently? I can't file a complaint or request a search because the NY package was never scanned. Is there any chance it will show up, and what's my recourse without an initial scan?
As the title states....
Edited to add: I was told this by a family friend who is an employee of USPS. We have packages still "moving through the network" from November! WTF?! Every single package we send Ground Advantage takes over 7 days.
We have lost countless customers over the delay since last year. We are also out $1,000s for replacing customer's property (that we fix and send back) due to items arriving totally destroyed. I mean totally...tire tracks on the box, destroyed!
