I just finished school and am moving in a couple of months to another state for my job. I want to set my living room to look Victorian-themed, and I am looking for some inspiration if some of you have set up something similar in a regular apartment. Also, what would be a good place to look for furniture (couches, TV tables, artwork/decor, dining table, coffee table, rugs etc.) to go with it?
We are renovating a Folk Victorian from 1891 and are having challenges figuring out a feasible layout with a tv. Previous owners put a decorative fireplace in sometime in the 80s and closed up the window on the long wall. There's a floor vent by the door, which we can't cover over. We plan on replacing the floor. Options on the table now
-
Put tv in front of fireplace with couch on long wall (there used to be a window there, but they sealed it) and loveseat or chair on wall with window and door.
-
Put couch across the room with TV on long wall on narrow console table.
-
Put couch on long wall and tv in front of side window.
We have differing opinions on whether we should just remove the fireplace or not.
Any help appreciated!
